i am working again in vienna (seriously) finishing the record and i have been listening to AEREA NEGROT’s voice all week on what is turning out to be one of my favorite songs on the new record… i can remember the process of recording it with her. i have NEVER seen an artist operate like her in the studio, and this song is proof. the vocal performanceerupted out of her like, i don’t know, wow….

xymox started out as clan of xymox and were like the cocteau twins (without the inimitable liz fraser) but then turned into a dance dark wave goth weird kind of eurobeat/balearic band, and i loved it! they look amazing in this video

BUT in a fun disco way! i wanted to post a video of “ghost riders in the sky” by boots clements (originally written by classic country man stan jones). i couldn’t find an mp3 or video, so i thought i’d post “il viliero” by the chaplin band. it has a fraction of the ho down of “ghost riders” but it still feels like a little bit of a barndance.
